WASHINGTON PLANNING BOARD
Minutes
February 3, 2011
Planning Board Hearing, public hearing regarding
telecommunication ordinance proposed changes.
Members present: Lynn Cook, Nan Schwartz, Tom Marshall,
Bill Cole
Public present: Guy Eaton, Ken Eastman and Jim Gaskell
Cook asked for a motion to have Cole sit in for Jim
Crandall. Schwartz motioned to have Cole sit in for Jim Crandall. Marshall
seconded the motion. All voted in favor.
At 3:00 PM the hearing was called to order by Lynn Cook.
Schwartz advised that the Planning Board had sent the existing ordinance to the
Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission and Fieldstone Land
Consultants had made suggestions for the proposed revisions/updates. The Town
of Washington is looking to make the proposed changes for housekeeping
purposes. Marshall said that the Town is now not on the radar for a cell phone
tower but the company that has been talking to representatives of the Town has
been advised that they will return.
Cook asked for any questions from the public.
The proposed changes will be on the ballot.
James Gaskell asked if the ordinance states how long a
test balloon must remain in the air. Schwartz said that there is something
stating that the balloon test must be coordinated with the town to allow
residents to be notified. Marshall said that we would have a ten-day notice for
residents like a Public Hearing. Cook asked if there were any suggestions on a
limit. Schwartz said we had not considered the action, but thanked Gaskell for
the suggestion. Cook suggested that we contact Upper Valley Lake Sunapee
Regional Planning Commission for a timeline suggestion. Schwartz will call and
return with the answer.
Tom Marshall motioned to adjourn the hearing. Schwartz
seconded the motion. All voted in favor, the public hearing was adjourned at
3:20PM
Respectfully submitted,
