Planning Board Hearing on definitions to be added to the Land Use Ordinance

Members present: Lynn Cook, Jim Crandall, Nan Schwartz, Tom Marshall

Public present: Ed Thayer

At 3:00 PM the hearing was called to order by Lynn Cook.

Schwartz provided a copy of the proposed definitions for addition to the Land Use Ordinance. She explained that the moderator threw out the Planning Board's ballot last year after he perceived voter confusion at town meeting. The definitions were posted in each voting booth but some copies were removed by voters at some point during the day. A recent call to the LGC to ask if we needed to hold hearings again for the definitions brought to light the fact that the moderator had no authority to throw out the ballots. There was no requirement to have the definitions posted, the ballots as printed were all that were needed. Consequently we were told we needed to hold hearings again on the definitions and have the town vote on them once again. The second hearing will be at our next regularly scheduled meeting December 7^th at 6 PM.

Cook asked if the public had any questions. There being none, Cook requested a motion from the Board.

Cook motioned to accept the definitions as presented to the Board and to place these changes on the ballot in March. Crandall seconded the motion. All voted in favor.

Tom Marshall motioned to adjourn the hearing. Crandall seconded the motion. All voted in favor the public hearing was adjourned at 3:10 PM.
