Municipal Task Force

 

Meeting Date:  May 26, 2009

Attendance:  Dennis Kelly, Jim Russell, Tom Taylor, Steve Terani, Steve Hanssen

 

1)   Dennis Kelly requested members to look at their calendars for a possible July (Saturday) date for a public meeting to discuss the Task Force work to date and to ask for input from the public.  It was agreed that we should precede that meeting with a dry run of the meeting.  Steve Terani and Tom Taylor expressed concern about being ready by that date. 

2)   It was also agreed that we should start weekly work sessions to implement a second round interviews with department heads to discuss our findings and to seek their input for priorities.  We will start with Brian Moser (fire dept.) and Bob Wright (rescue squad).  Ed Thayer was in the office and said it would be fine with him if we interviewed Brian during working hours.  Dennis will contact Brian and Bob for possible meeting dates and times.

3)   Jim showed further work on a spreadsheet he has started which will be useful in combination with Tom and Steve HanssenŐs work.  It was agreed that it would be a useful tool to demonstrate a summation of our findings.

4)   Steve Hanssen presented a scaled drawing of the fire station property that will be useful when discussing possible changes for the future. 

5)   Tom Taylor presented more of his presentation materials that have been completed.

6)   Dennis Kelly reported that he looked into the property surrounding the Town Hall, Police Station and the Church.  He will need help from the assessors to determine the property boundaries.

7)   Jim Russell presented a drawing showing the placement of the Town Hall septic system.  Thanks to Carolyn for her effort were expressed.

8)   A listing of considerations about facilities was started.

9)  Dennis will ask the Selectmen to find out maintenance and utility costs for town buildings over the past 3 years.

10)  The next monthly meeting will be held at town hall on 6/29/30.
