Local resident Cindy treats Halloween
like the rest of us do Christmas. She wanted to get some real
scary characters out this year, so guess who appeared on the Faxon Hill
Rd. display? Even without a fake radar gun Mini-Chief made drivers
slow down just to look & laugh! |

In July, 2009 Chief Marshall arranged for the
NH State Police
to come to town with the Bell 407 Helicopter for a display for the boys
and counselors at the Montfort Retreat. Pilot David Linares and
Unit Commander Sgt. Tom Lombardi did some aerial maneuvers before
landing, then gave a presentation once they landed. They allowed
anyone that wanted to sit in the Observer's seat and ask any questions
they wanted. |

Unfortunately,
due to an on-going investigation we cannot release too much information-
in the summer of 2008 Chief Marshall and Ofc. Corrigan, working with the
Attorney General's Drug Task Force, obtained a search warrant and seized
a large quantity of marijuana in Washington. |

was the first to complete the expanded 200 hour program, double what the
previous classes were required to complete. |

As part of a school emergency drill in November, 2006,
the Western NH Special Operations Unit was invited to do a tactical
entry to show the students what the policemen may look like if they have
to come to the school to help them. We wanted the students to see
the officers all geared up, so if the need ever arose, the students and
teachers would not be afraid of them.
On the left Chief Marshall watches as Ofc. Mudget of
the Claremont Police talks with the 3-4 class. Kindergarten
teacher Erika Sullivan watches as Chief Marshall and Chief Tim Julian of
the Springfield Police Department talk about the equipment he carries. |

The
police cruiser is always stocked with bike helmets for those we see not
wearing them while riding. In July of 2006, Chief Marshall
happened to see Selectman Richard Cook patrolling E. Washington on his
bike, and not wearing a helmet. Rich was given a helmet and
promised to set a good example for the children of E. Washington.

The
police do more than just "cops and robbers", To help the school
teach about all cultures, the Chief is invited to talk to the
kindergarten and first graders each year about what Chanukah is, and how
he celebrates it with his family. |
