Seth's PartyAfter a year and a half of hard work, Washington's Seth Chidester completed his paramedic training and passed all his certification exams to become a licensed paramedic.  The Squad was able to throw a surprise congratulations party for him, while he was in the room and didn't know it was being set up.

Among others celebrating with him in June 2011are EMT-I Denise Hanscom, Seth, EMT-B John Corrigan and EMT-P Amy Morss.

On a beautiful summer day in June '11 Chris & Amy Houle were married in the middle of huge boat raft floating on Ashuelot Pond.  75 people watched and Chief Marshall in full dress uniform married the couple in a uniquely Washington setting. (Nick Zaharias photo)

DPW GardenIn 2011 a group of local residents started a community garden behind the congregational church.  Contractor Bob Bachand donated time and equipment to remove the sod, and shown here is the Washington DPW preparing the loam for planting.

PD weathervane reinstall

In the spring of 2009 an observant local resident noticed part of weathervane on top of the Police Station had rotted off and was hanging precariously.  With the help of the Lempster Fire Department and their ladder truck the weathervane was removed.  Local craftsmen Bill Cole repaired the stanchion and Peter France metal crafted a new weathervane.  Here Bill is shown with a Lempster firefighter re-installing it after the repairs were completed. Nick's fish

Fish? You want fish? Yeah, we've got fish! Nick Zaharias of Washington shows off his 5 1/4 lb largemouth bass, caught in the Ashuelot River in 2008 using his trusty hula grub lure.

Washington's Ryan Kerry displaying his 6.51 pound, 21 inch long largemouth bass he caught in Halfmoon Pond on May 24, 2010.  This catch was registered through NH Fish & Game as a trophy fish!
