Ways to Decrease your Property Taxes

Current Use - If you own more than 10 acres of land you may qualify for Current Use. Also, some wetlands, all tree farms, and smaller tracts of active agricultural land can qualify. For more information go to the website of Statewide Program of Action to Conserve our Environment. (SPACE) New Hampshire's Current Use Coalition. A current use application can be found here: Washington Town Documents

Lot Merger - If you have 2 or more contiguous lots of land, it may be possible to decrease your tax bill by filing a simple Lot Merger application with the Planning Board. This requires a $50.00 fee.
