Welcome to the Town of Washington Department of Public Works Web Page. The Public Works Department employs four full time employees and several part time plow & wing operators and Transfer Station attendants. We are located on South Main Street, (NH Rt. 31) approximately 2 miles south of Washington Center and 9 miles North of the Rt. 9 bypass.
The Public Works Department is responsible for all town road and bridge maintenance as well as the operation of the Washington Transfer Station. Washington maintains approximately 12 miles of paved road and 30 miles of dirt roads.
Washington has a Director of Public Works appointed by the Board of Selectmen. This position is currently held by Ed Thayer.
