Mission Statement

The Washington Rescue Squad is part of Washington Fire and Rescue Department. It is the town of Washington's pay-by-call, 24-7 Emergency Medical Service, also serving the towns of Lempster and Hillsboro for mutual aid. Washington Rescue's Medical Resource Hospital is Concord Hospital.


Periodically, or by request, the Washington Fire Department Rescue Company offers CPR classes to the community and/or to community organizations. Annually it provides CPR and safety training to the staff of the Town's Camp Morgan summer program.

Washington Rescue has one ambulance, designated 86-Ambulance-1; it is equipped to meet state specifications for a transporting ambulance service.

Through the Town, patients are billed for hospital transport but not for other services provided by ambulance.

Patients are transported to the most appropriate hospital or to their or their doctor's hospital of choice.


Help Wanted

The Washington Rescue Squad is hiring EMT, EMT-I and AEMT's to work per-diem Monday through Friday 7am to 5 pm. Maximum of 30 hours a week. Please apply to Capt. Robert Wright here.
